There seems to be no end of them this year. This time Mexico is suffering. Currently more than 300,000 people (that’s more than two Oxfords) are trapped by the waters. Click on the picture below for photographs from BBC.

Bangladesh has suffered more storms. This comes as no surprise, but the country certainly has more than its share. Click on the picture below for the full story from the BBC.
The vast amount of the country is at sea level or very near and it is made up in a large part by the delta of the Rivers Ganges and Bramaputra. Add deforestation, monsoon, tropical storms, poor drainage, and you have a recipe for regular flooding.

The only items pupils MUST bring on the day are a waterproof coat and Wellies.
If for any reason you do not wish your son/daughter to take part in the survey please inform the school office.

My house was nearly flooded - sandbags were delivered and we took everything upstairs and waited for 12 hours, but it was okay. I guess some of you were - bad luck if that was the case. I’ve put together a slide show to show some information about what happened in the the Oxford region that week in July.
